Celebration of 5th International Yoga Day


5th International Yoga Day

The 5th International Yoga Day was celebrated at ICAR-NBAIM, Mau on June 21, 2019.  About 50 participants from staff members and families were participated in Morning Yoga Session form 6:00 a.m. under CYP and performed yoga-asan and pranayam under supervision of Shri. Shyam Ji Shukla (AAO and Yoga Sadhak). Following other activities were performed to create the awareness about role of yoga in wellness and mental health.

·         Paricharcha on benefits of Yoga, wherein Dr. P.K. Sharma highlighted the importance and quoted the Prime Minister’s view “Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Yoga is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with ourselves, the world and Nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us to deal with climate change”. Dr. Sanjay Goswami, and Shyam Ji Shukla highlighted the importance and power of Yoga in stress management and management of lifestyle diseases. Dr. Alok K. Srivastava discussed about the need of regular practice and proper method of practicing Yoga specifically the pranayam and asans

·         Quiz and slogan writing competition was organized and winners were awarded by first, second, third prize.

·         On this occasion to popularize the yoga, all the staff of the Bureau was given the soft copy of the video on yoga and requested to perform on regular basis.
