Network
Project of Application of Microorganisms in Agriculture and Allied Sectors (AMAAS)
The network project on ‘Application of microorganisms in agriculture and allied sectors (AMAAS)’
were initiated to recognizing the transformative potential of microorganisms in
agriculture and allied sectors. These collaborative endeavors, spanning
different states and thematic areas, seek to harness the power of microbes for
the benefit of farmers, researchers, and society at large. By fostering
interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, these projects aim to
unlock the full potential of microbial resources for sustainable agriculture
and environmental stewardship. The scheme AMAAS was approved by the Planning
Commission in the X plan in the 35th EFC meeting of DARE/ICAR. The scheme was
continued in the XIIth plan and consecutive period
from 2017-2020. Under the current phase (2021-2026), 30 projects are being implemented across different
states of the country under different thematic areas.
